The geese we will be shooting are pink-footed geese arriving in Scotland from Iceland. The geese begin to arrive in Scotland around the second week in September , however Sporting Safaris Scotland begin shooting from the 1st of October.

At Sporting Safaris Scotland we have some of the prime goose shooting Scotland has to offer. We carry out our prime goose shooting around one of the largest goose roosts in Scotland.

The geese will be roosting on the Montrose Basin. The Montrose Basin usually holds around 60,000 geese from the 2nd week in September till early November, then holds anything from 10,000 to 15,000 geese throughout the rest of the season.
Sporting Safaris Scotland has built up contact with over 50 farmers in the east of Scotland area. Sporting Safaris Scotland has the exclusive rights to shoot the geese on these farms.

Sporting Safaris Scotland has the exclusive goose shooting on the most active feeding fields in the east of Scotland area of Scotland. Sporting Safaris Scotland prepare the area for their clients by feeding the surrounding fields.
Sporting Safaris Scotland offer some of the prime goose shooting Scotland has to offer.
Sporting Safaris Scotland also has most of the prime goose shooting in the central area of Scotland which is around the Tay estuary and the Eden estuary this area comes in to its own later in the season anytime from early December till the end of January.

Sporting Safaris Scotland has some of the finest sporting farmland in this area for their clients. The shooting in this area is second to none from anywhere else in the central belt of Scotland.

Sporting Safaris Scotland offer a truly great goose shooting experience.

Sporting Safaris Scotland supply all equipment except guns and cartridges. All goose shooting will be inland over decoys. All reconnaissance is carried out before the shoot to ensure that only the best fields are selected.
Geese are however wild birds therefore no 100% guarantees can be given.

All hides are built for clients and the decoys set out by the guide. The guide can use up to 100 decoys in a morning and all clients are placed in the hides to wait for the arrival of the geese.
The geese usually arrive in small parties although may arrive in groups of one hundred.

Once the geese begin to arrive the experienced guide will use his goose call to call the geese in to range for clients to shoot.
All this adds to the atmosphere and helps to create a great experience for the clients.
In a morning shooting clients can shoot 15-20 geese for a team of 5 guns.

Sporting Safaris Scotland has the exclusive accesses to a goose roost which has anything from 500-1500 geese roosting on it at any one time. This goose roost is a large pond which is a quiet sanctuary for the geese to roost in peace every night.
Sporting Safaris Scotland shoot this roost once every two weeks with their clients throughout the goose shooting season the shooting on this large pond is second to none anywhere else in Scotland the shooting on this pond has to be seen to be believed.
A party of 4 guns can expect to shoot anything from 15-25 geese on any one night.
Sporting Safaris Scotland still offer goose shooting around Loch Leven when opportunities arise.
Sporting Safaris Scotland is still running there no goose no fee charge for the 2008-2009 season .
