Woodcock Shooting
Sporting Safaris Scotland are now able to offer top quality walked-up woodcock shooting to their clients with some of the finest estates on our books.
These estates produce top quality walked-up up woodcock from early November until end of January.
Sporting Safaris Scotland have over the past three years been specializing in walked-up woodcock shooting with a good average of woodcock being shot every season.
Woodcock are wading birds which inhabit damp woodland with open rides. Woodcock often feed around streams, pasture fields and on boggy ground but prefer dense cover during the daylight hours.
The resident population in Scotland is increased by a large over wintering migrant population; it is thought that the bulk off these migrant birds arrive with the full moon in November.
The sight of the woodcock swooping and its erratic flight makes the woodcock one of the finest sporting birds out there to shoot.
